With the leaves changing colors and Halloween right around the corner many rural Arizona towns are kicking off the holiday season with a Halloween celebration. Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins will haunt the streets off these towns for a night hoping to get an easy scare while residents celebrate hallows eve together.
Clarkdale is one of the towns that is planing on having a Halloween celebration this year.This celebration will include competitions such as costume contests and candy for all of those who wish to participate. There is no fee to participate in any of these events and cash awards will be given for those who place in first, second, or third in the costume contest.There will be several routes laid out for trick or treating which lie on Main Street, 1st North Street, and 1st South Street. The fun will kick off on October 31st and will go between the hours of 5:00 to 7:00. Bringing a flashlight is suggested and pets while cute will not be allowed.
Bisbee is another town that is hosting a wide range of spooky Halloween activities. One of the more unique events is the October 30th ghost hunt in the copper queen hotel. This ghost hunt will take one through the historic streets of Bisbee and will visit many of the haunted spots of this one hundred and twenty five year town. Learn the history of Bisbees most haunted buildings and about the spirits which still dwell there today. Later one can join in on a spooky seance that is sure to wake the dead.
Prescott is having a Halloween happening on October 24th which will last from 4:30 to 7:30. This celebration is complete with live animals, face painting, and even a fireside table. This celebration is family friendly and open to all. Children under twelve get in for two dollars while adults get in for five.
Show Low is having its annual Spooktacular starting October 25th at noon and going to nine pm. A wide assortment of activities including Scaryoke and pet costume contests are scheduled to occur. There will be other activities and assortments for all age groups including pie eating, live music, and of course free candy.
The copper mountain Inn in Globe, Arizona is hosting Halloween festivities October 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Live music, food and even a fortune teller will all be present. Trick or treating will also be in full swing so make sure to bring those treat bags.
Halloween is right around the corner and more is going on with it than just in the big cities. Many of these rural communities have put together successful Halloween events which emphasis communities. If one is looking for something different for Halloween then one of these events may be the way to go.
