Looking beyond the Rural Policy Forum, those of us apart of Arizona Rural Development Council (AZRDC) want to continue the conversation on issues commonly faced within rural development. Spurring from this idea came the initiation of a webinar series specifically addressing these outcomes. “Generating Solutions for Rural Development” is a webinar series that will address a number of topics pertaining to development issues, specifically in the context of rural communities. Topics will rotate on a monthly basis with new speakers, examples, and ideas coming from all corners of the state.
In the first webinar of the series last month, we covered workforce training and development, focusing on issues such as where to find resources for help, how your local government plays a role in assistance, generational differences in training and development, and actual examples of implemented success will be discussed by our speakers.
Our topic this month (held on Wednesday, September 28, at 10:00 AM) will be on how to leverage your business during the holiday season. The initial webinar will draw from content of a previously recorded session done by President and Co-Founder of Ideas Collide and a live session with Local First Arizona’s Community Development Coordinator, Kendall Crever. This webinar will address the intense battle for consumers’ attention during the fast approaching holiday season. With consumers’ short attention spans leaving you less than 8 seconds to make an impression, you must stand out during the busiest shopping season of the year or be left behind like last year’s toys.
In this upcoming webinar, you’ll learn actionable tips and insights to help you make marketing magic during the crowded and fierce holiday shopping landscape.
Attendees will learn:
- How to tell an engaging story about “buying local” during the holidays
- Tips to encourage customers to purchase in-store vs. online
- Why the holiday season can also be a golden opportunity for service providers, not just retailers
- The pros & cons of holiday marketing in various channels from print to radio to direct mail
